The USB-CCD30S is a new 0.3 megapixel webcam from IO-Data. The specifications of the camera itself are no different from the 101 other webcams on the market but the included software makes the camera somewhat newsworthy. The "BarCatch Data" software allows two-dimensional QR Code barcodes to be read.

IO Data Device will begin sales of a 0.3 megapixel CCD USB camera capable of reading QR Codes, the "USB-CCD30S", from late October. The retail price will be 9765 yen.
The USB-CCD30S is a USB camera with a 0.3 megapixel 0.2" CCD sensor and a 5.5mm F2.0 lens. QR Codes can be read using the included "BarCatch Data" application. The maximum frame rate of the camera is 10 fps @ 640 x 480 and 30 fps @ 320 x 240. The camera connects via a USB1.1 interface and is bus-powered. Other than an internal omni-directional condenser mike, two stands are also provided - a desktop stand and a clip stand.
The camera is 60 mm x 39 mm x 62 mm (WxDxH) in size (camera-only) and weighs 138 grams. Windows 98SE/ME/2000/XP operating systems are supported. In addition to a noise-cancelling headset, "I-O DATA CAMCAP Windows Edition" movie capture software and "Mr.Cam" internet broadcast software are also included with the product.
