Nothing really stands out though, unfortunately.
As far as I can tell. Hell, I haven't even read the article yet!
Going back over the article now, a 640 x 480 screen in landscape would be nice, particularly with the integrated 802.11b. Is this sort of thing standard now?
Fujitsu Corporation will release the "Pocket LOOX v70" PDA with a 1.3MP camera in the middle part of July. The price is Open Price, but indicators suggest it should cost around 80,000 yen.
It features "Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition software for Pocket PC Japanese Version" (Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition" announced by Microsoft Corporation on the 6th as an OS.
The internal camera is a CMOS module with an effective 1.3MP resolution. Its F value is F2.8, and it has a focal length of f=4.56mm, with a photo distance of 60cm - infinity. Using the included "LX camera" application software, detailed photographic setting such as white balance and contrast can be fine tuned. The recording resolution is 1,280 x 960 pixels. Recorded JPEG images can be stored in either the internal memory or on a SD card/CF.
A 3.7" display features a 640 x 480 dot (VGA) resolution. With the help of Pocket PC 2003 Second Edition functions, it can be used in either Portrait Mode or Landscape Mode.
Also included standard is Fujitsu's own "Japanist for Pocket PC," a Japanese input tool that increases recognition efficiency of handwritten Japanese characters.
Detailed specifications include an Intel PXA270 (520MHz) processor, 128MB of memory, 64MB of flash ROM (19MB usable by user), and interfaces aplenty: IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN support, a SDIO Now! supporting SD card slot, a Type2 CF slot, an infrared port, and a serial/USB external connection port.
A lithium ion rechargable battery can supply power for about 13 hours; the high capacity battery (not included) can power the unit for about 20 hours. A function called the "USB charger" is also included that allows the battery to recharge while the device is connected to a PC.
The main body size is 73 x 16.9 x 118mm (W x D x H), and it has a weight of about 165. Two styluses (?styli?) are included, as well as a cradle, AC adapter, soft case, and CD-ROM.
