The N610 and N620 are GSM phones specifically developed for the Chinese market by NEC.
With the addition of the touchscreen, NEC has dropped the typical 10-key layout, and added handwriting recognition for Chinese characters.
English handwriting recognition blows enough as it is, and there's only 26 letters. I can't imagine what Chinese recognition would be like - I think the average Chinese person knows like 4,000 characters.

NEC has developed the "N610" and "N620" GSM phones for the Chinese market, and has begun shipping them.

Both the "N610" and "N620" are GSM flip phones with 176 x 220 dot touchpanel displays. They do not have 10-key buttons so typical of modern phones, and the time can be seen through a window on the back side of the unit. The phones feature a Chinese handwriting recognition function, and are operated using the included pen on the touchpanel. Apart from featuring a 0.30MP camera, the "N620" features SMS functions and reading of vocal guidance.

The size of the "N610" is 88.9 x 48.5 x 21.2mm (H x W x T), and it has a weight of 95g. With an LCD capable of displaying 65,000 colors, the continuous talk time is 120 minutes, and the idle time is about 150 hours.

The size of the "N620," on the other hand, is 94.8 x 51.8 x 22.3mm (H x W x T), at a weight of 102g. Its 2.2" LCD can display 260,000 colors, the phone has a continuous talk time of 120 minutes or idle time of 200 hours.
