Sony has added newly designed models to their "Pocket Bit" USB flash memory series. Besides o­nly o­ne of the products, all of them will be released immediately at Open Price.

-"Pocket Bit Pro USD2G" with a MicroDrive

This device is actually a miniature USB 2.0 supporting MicroDrive with a 2GB capacity. It will be released in the first part of July, and o­n SonyStyle, for the price of 34,440 yen.

A USB jack is stored inside of the unit, giving it an exceptional compact design. The main body size is 50 x 73 x 13mm (W x D x H).

-Compact design model "Pocket Bit U-Mini D"

This USB flash memory device is about 30% more compact than previous models, with a main body size of 17 x 9 x 55mm (W x D x H), and a weight of 8g.

Available capacities will be the 32MB USM32D, 64MB USM64D, 128MB USM128D, and 256MB USM256D. Respective prices of the drives, o­n SonyStyle, are 3,339 yen, 4,179 yen, 6,279 yen, and 11,340 yen.

When using USB 2.0, the write speed of the USM32D/64D is 1.5MB/sec, and the USM128/256D 7MB/sec. The read speeds of all models is 12MB/sec.

-Fingerprint sensor model "USM128F"

This is a USB flash memory device that features a fingerprint sensor o­n the clip section. Fingerprint verification supporting software is included, and files/folders can be set for security, and the drive also supports fingerprint verification for login to certain web sites. The memory is 128MB. The direct sale price o­n SonyStyle is 12,390 yen.

Transfer speeds, when using USB 2.0, sit at around 3.5MB/sec writing, and 5.5MB/sec reading.

The external dimensions are 20 x 7 x 61mm (W x D x H), and the weight is 8.5g. An exclusive cradle is included.

-HAS a Memory Stick slot "USM128MBS"

This is a USB 2.0 supporting memory device that furnishes a Memory Stick PRO supporting slot. The capacity is 128MB, and the direct sale price from SonyStyle is 9,429 yen.

Transfer speeds while using USB 2.0, to the internal memory, are 3.5MB/sec writing and 5.5MB/sec reading; to the Memory Stick PRO, 2.5MB/sec writing and 3.5MB/sec reading.

Its size is 30 x 15 x 104mm (W x D x H), and it has a weight of 22g.

-Large capacity model, "Pocket Bit USM-E"

Simply put, this is a USB 2.0 flash memory device with a 512MB capacity. The direct sale price from SonyStyle is 21,480 yen. Transfer speeds when using USB 2.0 are at 7MB/sec for writing and 12MB/sec for reading.

The size of the device is 20 x 11 x 78mm (W x D x H), and it has a weight of about 13g.
