Topic: Samsung
The new items published under this topic are as follows.
English press release under "read more," because I'm sure you want to.
In our second of tonight's "just to let you know" articles, Samsung has created the thumbnail sized flash memory they're calling "MMCmicro." It's only 12 x 14 x 1.1mm. Easy to lose? Yes.
Samsung has this new cell phone, and it's got a 5MP camera. I don't think this needs too much explaining.
My digital camera is only 1.3MP. Yeah, I think it's time for me to upgrade. This is getting ridiculous.
Samsung has announced the world's first 60nm memory, which is apparently "a year ahead" of the rest of the industry.
More importantly, though, I thought their claim that they would surpass Intel within the next few years was interesting. They just might be right.
Hold on to your hats, ladies and gentlemen....Samsung and Sony have completed the panel production facility for their new S-LCD company. We first reported on S-LCD, a joint venture of the two companies, back in March.
Yes, we know that there's been 72" PDPs, but what about LCD? Well, Samsung has one that's 46". That's pretty large.
I don't remember if I reported on this when it first came up about a month and a half ago, but Fujitsu filed a lawsuit against Samsung SDI, claiming that they had infringed on some of Fujitsu's plasma display panel (PDP) patents, and even sought to prevent Samsung from importing their PDP products into Japan.
Well anyway, they've apparently reached a settlement. Unfortunately they're not telling us what the terms of the settlement are. Oh, the suspense!
Still, since the ban on Samsung's PDP importation to Japan has been lifted, we can assume it's not that bad for them.
Samsung and Sony are to form a subsidiary specifically for the production of LCDs, and they're calling it "S-LCD." It was originally announced last year, but they're being more specific about it now.
Yes, I know Samsung is not a Japanese company, but they can obviously produce cool things too.
This is an 80 inch PDP screen. 80 inch.
