Alpha-Data

Seeing as how I've made it my personal goal to obtain the "thinnest" electronic devices possible, I suppose I should add Alpha Data's new "AD-OFMS" mobile mouse to my list. It's a USB optical rollerball (uses an optical sensor to pick up the movements of the roller) mouse that stands a mere 15.5mm high -- not sure how comfortable that would really be on the hands, but hey, you can't have everything.

Alpha-Data

Alpha-Data has been silent for quite some time. I guess they were working on this in the background.

It's a portable media player that has a 7" screen, yet has a surprisingly crappy 480 x 234 dot resolution. There's no internal hard drive, either. Hell, it doesn't even have a battery. I can only think of one application for such a product: commercial.

It's not all bad news, though, as it supports 7 different kinds of media.

HDD cases for both 2.5 and 3.5 inch drives are a dime-a-dozen these days. Alpha-Data tries to separate themselves from the pack with the "Copy BANK Case" - a 2.5" HDD case that supports battery-powered operation and can be used independent of a PC as a storage device for digital cameras and mp3 players.

I've never encoded to DivX so I can't say how useful this is.

There's really nothing better to write about tonight. I've noticed a few other sites are going bonkers about FeliCa now, but to TechJapan readers, that's old news :)

Alpha-Data

It's not the official name of this product, but it's all I could think of the first time I saw it.
A seemingly normal webcam, but the twist is its 310mm flexible arm. You'll want to see the image for this one.
