Leave it to Sharp to announce a heap of products in the same day. This time, we take a look at two of their new 32" LCD TVs offering integrated wireless LAN, USB functionality, and dual display support. Err wait, only one of them offers that stuff...
Sharp will release the "IT-32X2" 32" LCD TV furnishing a USB port for connecting digital cameras on July 29th. It is Open Price. Estimates dictate it will cost roughly 260,000 yen.
This is an LCD TV that contains an analog tuner and uses a "32" widescreen ASV low-reflective black TVFT LCD." The resolution is 1266 x 768 pixels, and it features a LR/UD viewing angle of 170 degrees. It has a maximum brightness of 450cd/m2, and a contrast ratio of 800:1. It also supports sRGB. It furnishes a DVI-D and analog RGB input for this.
The unit provides not only a 3-port USB Hub, but 2 ports of USB input. These inputs are for the playback of video, still image, or audio data stored on memory audio players, USB memory, external hard drives, or other devices supporting USB Mass Storage. For example, if you were to connect a digital camera, images that were taken can be displayed on the TV.
Supported still image formats are JPEG, BMP, and PNG. The maximum resolution that can be displayed, however, is 1600 x 1200 for JPEG, and 1024 x 768 for PNG. Other supported file formats include MPEG-1, MPEG-2, WMV, MP3, LPCM, WAV, and WMA.
The unit also features internal 802.11a/b/g wireless LAN. The IT-32X2 uses the "Network Media Player Function" to play media stored on PCs it is connected to in this fashion.
Also provided is a dual-display and picture-in-picture function for display of both PC and TV simultaneously. Video inputs include two D4 jacks, two S-Video jacks, and three Composite jacks. The body size is 801 x 280 x 645mm (W x D x H), and it weighs roughly 20.4kg (including the stand).
Sharp will also release the "IT-32M2," which drops the USB function and network media player function. It will be released on June 24th, and though it is Open Price, estimated to be around 230,000 yen.
