My workflow for creating these TechJapan articles involves making a large list of links to source articles, press releases and such. As you can imagine, on a day like today where I'm trying to make up for not posting for the past two days, this list gets sort of large. Since I would easily lose track of which articles are which if I only recorded the links, I also write a couple words describing the articles to refresh my memory.
For this article, all I wrote was "A TAPE PLAYER."
Matsushita Electric Industries Corporation will release the "RQ-SX59," a stereo cassette player with headphones, on March 10th. Open Price, but estimated at 7,000 yen.
The included "One-Finger Remote Controller" allows for tape operations to be carried out with a single finger, and it recharges by a stand. The one-Finger Remote is controlled by either pushing the lever and button in the middle of the remote, or sliding it (your finger) to the left or right. Also included is an "A-B repeat" function.
Gumstick type NiMH batteries (included) and AA batteries can also be used to supply power. When using just the Gumsticks, you'll get about 18 hours and 30 minutes of playback time; this jumps to 66 hours when using them in tangent with alkaline AA batteries.
Frequency response ranges from 40Hz ~ 18,000Hz (JEITA, normal), with a maximum actual output of 1.5mW x 2ch (JEITA). The external dimensions of the player are 80.7 x 22.9 x 110.0mm (W x D x H), and it weighs about 131g.
