Sharp will release two new "Aquos" televisions using memory cards and attention-grabbing style, the "LC-20B5" and "LC-15B5."
Both models feature a "PC Card Slot," which allows easy recording television programs to memory card. Also, long recording has now been made possible by support for new Hard Disk PC Cards. With this, (1) TV-recorded videos can, of course, be viewed on cellular phones*** and Zaurus**** handheld units and (2) electronic books downloaded at Sharp Space Town can be enjoyed on the large screen and other attention to style has been paid.
The "LC-20B5" employs the "ASV** system low reflection black TFT panel" developed by Sharp, allowing for blackness reduced high-contrast image reproduction even in bright rooms. With features such as "QS Technology" that decreases ghosting of the LCD after fast moving images and "3 dimensional movement adaptation model I/P transformation" which suppresses grainy images and flickering, users can see a high contrast, vivid image from any viewing angle. Also, between the combination of the newly adopted "1 bit digital amp" which increases the quality of the audio realm independently developed by Sharp and the "Virtual Dolby Surround$," users can enjoy full body sound from just the front two speakers. The "LC-15B5" is a personal TV featuring the "ASV system low reflection black TFT panel,"3 dimensional movement adaptation model I/P transformation," "Virtual Dolby Surround," etc..
The design is a new side-speaker design from the worldly industrial designer, Toshiyuki Kita. The speaker section also contains new punch medal, which is a style that makes people feel the higher quality audio. Of course, since it is an LCD, it surpasses CRT televisions in environmental realms such as low power consumption, and long backlight life, and lower flickering.
Main Merits
1. New attention-grabbing style with use of a memory card to play recorded video on handheld units, and enjoyment of electronic texts. 2. ASV system low reflection black TFT panel with "QS Technology (20V inch)", "3 dimensional movement adaptation model I/P transformation," and other Sharp-only high quality image processing engines. 3. Using the 1 bit digital amplifier and Virtual Dolby Surround, high quality audio presence has become a reality. 4. Backlight life of 60,000 hours***** / The 20V model is designed for 71W of power consumption, and other features appropriate for the environmental era that have been common with AQUOS and the Energy Commission.
* The "V" (as in 20V) is a measurement based on the effective screen size when measured diagonally. (Current CRT television models {such as 21"} do not measure the diagonal effective screen size, but rather the outer diameter of the diagonal screen size) ** ASV---Abbreviate for Advanced Super View. It is a newly constructed LCD panel which allows for up/down left/right viewing angles of up to 170 degrees. *** Camera-phone intended for Vodafone (V601SH) (As of January 14th, 2004) **** Zaurus (SL-C860, SL-C760, SL-C750) (As of January 14th, 2004) ***** In a room temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, for TVs that are kept at "standard" brightness levels for long periods of time, it is recommended that the brightness be reduced by half. $ Dolby, ドルビー, Pro Logic and the Double D Symbol are trademarks of Dolby Laboratories.
