Although the site is obviously experiencing some major technical difficulties (that we're in the process of addressing), there's certainly no time to stop reporting the news.

And when news comes in the form of a "10-key Mouse," we have no choice but to bring it to you during these dire times.

A USB connecting 10-key with an integrated optical mouse function, the "10-Key Mouse (NT-MA1)," has been released by Sanwa Supply. The actual retail price is 6,298 yen.

Although certain mice with 10-keys have been available as products intended for gaming, this "10-key Mouse" uses silver as a coloring, meaning you could the design "business-oriented." Also, most products until now have mainly focused on the mouse part, and the 10-key was just sort of thrown in as a toy -- but this is just the opposite. The main focus is the 10-key, and if you don't notice the button or wheel, it would appear to be a normal 10-key.

One particular characteristic of the product is a switch on the left side of the unit's body, enabling only particular functions to be turned on; just the mouse, just the 10-key, or both. The body size is 76 x 120 x 21mm (W x D x H). Pantograph style keys are used.

While of course ease of grip and such are inferior to a traditional mouse, we found the switch to change between necessary functions to be a great idea. This item is certain to attract attention to mobile users who are troubled by having to transport both mouse and 10-key.
