Another iPod gets a broken screen. Then why does it cost 28,100 yen to repair it?

[1]
Victim: Youhei of Fukuoka Prefecture
Scene of Accident: Road in front of a pub
Broken Item: Apple Computer iPod
Details of Accident: We were having a farewell party at a 24 hour pub, and while out front talking with everyone, my superior at my part time job suddenly knocked me into the road, where I landed on my back.
Though there wasn't much shock because it was in a bag on my back, the screen of my iPod was broken; I could listen to music but not see anything on the screen. It was inside of a protector case (iSkin), and the plastic protector portion for the screen was obviously destroyed.
Damage Amount: 28,100 yen for repairs.
More from the Contributor: This was quite a shock, as I had not even owned it for a month; I got it at the end of last year. The 28,100 yen repair cost is quite large...Additionally, my mobile phone was in the same bag, and part of its screen turned black. I decided I won't be going to any more drinking parties.
