Explaining exactly how Mediaseek's new "Motion Detection Engine" for cell phones with cameras is somewhat difficult. Especially in the space I'm limited to on the front page!

So, "Read More." This is a pretty damn exciting technology.

Mediaseek has developed the "Motion Detection Engine," which will analyze the movements of images displayed in the preview window of cellular phones with cameras.

The "Motion Detection Engine" analyzes the images displayed in the preview window of cellular phones with cameras, and will recognize how much their directions have changed. It can recognize movement in all four directions, as well as rotation.

For example, in a shooting game, users would need to move their phone to align their crosshairs with an enemy, and when the enemy enters the crosshairs, they would press a button to shoot them.

Mediaseek has said that the newly developed engine can be applied to gaming, showrooms of residences, and also be used to represent 3D virtual spaces using a cellular phone with a camera. They plan on offering the engine to domestic and international contents providers.
