I'm not entirely sure would qualify a pair of headphones as being "for cellular phones," but AudioTechnica must be. They don't have a microphone on them, but I guess they're for cellular phones because of the adapter that comes with them. I've never seen it on a phone myself, but I guess Japanese phones now have a "flat shape" port for audio. Anyone out there who has a Japanese cell phone want to send in a pic?
AudioTechnica will release cell-phone earphones that are for audio playback purposes only on November 21st. Headphone types are also available; each costs 2,100 yen.
To be released are the "ATH-C30T" earphones and "ATH-Q30T" ear-hanging headphones. Neither model features a microphone function, and they are solely intended for audio playback.
A cellular phone flat-shaped port adapter is included in the package, and AudioTechnica will also be selling just the adapter, the "AT3A30T/0.6" for 840 yen.
