Another day, another new LCD TV from Sharp. There's nothing particular special about the LC-26GD3 26", it just fills a gap in a line-up that already includes 22, 32 and 37 inch models. Still we can't really complain - the more LCD TVs they sell, the cheaper they will get.

Sharp Corporation will begin sales of a new AQUOS LCD TV on 10 November - the terrestrial/BS110/CS digital tuner-equipped 26" LC-26GD3. The recommended retail price is 346,500 yen.
The TV is a new product in the all-in-one, "under-speaker" type GD3 series. The 26" model is an addition to a line-up that includes 22, 32 and 37 in. models already on sale.
An ASV (Advanced Super View) low-reflection black TFT LCD with 1366x768 resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio and 170 degree viewing angle (minimum contrast ratio of 10:1) is used in the TV. The panel brightness is 450cd/m2.
Other features include "Quick Shoot" for improving reproduction of high-speed moving images, an "Intelligent Brightness Sensor" for optimising screen brightness to the surrounding light and "Digital Ghost Reduction" for minimising ghosting of analogue broadcasts.
Sound output is 10W x 2ch. Two 8cm and two 2.5 cm 2-way speakers are installed and "Virtual Dolby Surround" can be used to generate a 3D sound field. A simplified remote control is included to improve ease of use.
Available video outputs are D4 x 2, S2-video x 2, composite x 1. A monitor output (composite/s-video) is also provided. Other inputs/outputs include i.LINK (x2), Ethernet, optical digital out (x1) and a headphone jack. External dimensions and weight (including stand) are 663 x 278 x 556 mm (WxDxH) and approximately 17.0 kg. Power consumption is 132 W.
A carrying handle forms part of the main body and available options include a floor stand (AN-26SF1, 56,750 yen) and a wall-mounting kit (AN-110AG1, 6,300 yen).
