Some people are calling this new phone from Tu-ka "too simple," but I think they're wrong. There's no such thing as "too simple," as long as a device can carry out the functions for which it is meant.
From a convenience standpoint, though, I'd at least ask for a damn LCD. This new Kyocera phone doesn't have o­ne.

The three companies of the Tu-ka Group will release the "Tu-ka S" phone in the middle of November that is intended for simple operation. The price with a new contract is said to be under 5,000 yen.

This new "Tu-ka S" is a Kyocera phone for talking o­nly. It does not feature and LCD display. The name of the phone means "the ultimate simple terminal," and is designed to be "a phone so simple it doesn't need an instruction manual. Furthermore, it has been assigned the "TK50" product code.

The body has number keys, talk/hang up keys, and a slide-switch for turning the power o­n and off. The signal strength and battery life are displayed using LEDs, where simply lighting up means "satisfactory," flashing means "weak," and not lighting up at all means "roaming" or "no battery."

The size of the phone is 48 x 121 x 18mm (W x H x T), and it weighs 87g. The continuous talk time is 240 minutes, but the continuous idle time is around 840 hours. The o­nly body color will be silver.
