Bydsign will begin sales of its "d:684" in-car DVD system from 13 October, with deliveries beginning 20 October. The system will be sold directly through bydsign's website at a price of 49,800 yen.

Composed of two 6.2" wide LCD displays and a DVD player, the DVD system is designed for use in the rear seats of a car. The DVD player supports both the NTSC and PAL formats and playback of MP3 or JPEG files recorded on CD-R/RW is also possible. Playback resume functionality is also supported.
The LCD displays and DVD player are connected using included cables. Outputs include composite video, s-video, analog audio, co-axial digital audio and headphones (display units). Stereo AV input is also supported. Each display unit contains a mono speaker and, therefore, it is possible to use the system with just the DVD player and displays. A remote control is also included.
Power is provided by an AC adapter or a cigarette lighter adapter (both included). The DVD player has a power consumption of 36W, dimensions of 245 x 30 x 164 mm (WxDxH) and a weight of 0.8 kg. The display units consume 10W, are 218 x 44x 173 mm (WxDxH) in size and weigh 0.6 kg.
