This is a firmware update to the DVX-200 player, not the DVX-500 that I reported on about a month ago. The most notable feature of the update is OGG support. They will also being selling D-Component cable for the player.
Nagase Industries Corporation's "TRANSTECHNOLOGY Project" has released a firmware update for the DivX supporting DVD player, the "DVX-200" on the 25th.
These are the points that have been changed in the new VT.03.01c version:
[1]
-Folder View on the File List display screen
-OGG file (file extension .ogg) playback support
-compatibility update regarding file playback
-improvement in colors during playback
One of the restrictions, however, is "if you barrage the remote during playback, it may freeze." User registration is necessary to download. The firmware released this time around is already loaded on recently shipped players; so the update may not be necessary on certain players.

Also, a D-Component cable for use with the DVX-200/500 will be released sometime in the middle of January. It will only be sold via Transtechnology's direct sale site; for 1,980 yen.
It is 1.2m long, and employs a hybrid PCOCC and Hi-OFC semiconductor for a high-quality image; and it has a moderate price due to the simple packaging.
