If you've got nearly $9,000 to spare, Fujitsu will send you one of their new "all in one" RFID systems. Fujitsu Corporation begun the sale of their "RFID Trial Kit," a simple RFID testing kit, on September 7th. The RFID Trial Kit is a packaged product that contains all of the necessary hardware, software, and duty applications to test the introduction of RFID tags. Because all of the parts necessary for an RFID's system construction are included in the package, it can be used immediately after purchase. Also, as there are no other devices needed, Fujitsu has said that it can be used for a comparatively low cost. There are two duty applications available: "Property Control Duty Type," and "Employee Entrance/Departure Control Duty Type." In the Property Control Duty Type, with the use of RFID tags, more data can be stored than conventional barcodes, and even if the surface of the tag gets wet, the data can still be read. In the Employee Entrance/Departure Control Duty Type, sticker-type tags are attached to employee badges, and data can be controlled by simply holding the RFID tags over a reader/writer. The price of the kits are 900,000 yen, each. Shipments will begin before the end of October. Fujitsu plans for sales of 500 sets by the end of this year.
