Casio Computer Corporation will release the "QV-R61," a compact digital camera with a 6Mp CCD, on September 16th. Though it is listed as Open Price, indicators suggest it should cost around 45,000 yen.

As a lens, the camera has a 35mm type with a 3x optical zoom capable of 39 ~ 117mm conversion. The open F value is F2.8 ~ 4.9. The photography distance is from 60cm ~ infinity, and when in macro mode, 10 ~ 70cm. It can also automatically switch between macro and AF modes. Also include is a multi-area AF measuring from 7 distant points.

Both optical viewfinder and 2", 85,000 pixel TFT LCD are featured. The recording medium is either the internal 9.7MB of flash memory or SD memory card/MMC. Connection with a PC is done via USB. World clock and calendar display functions are also featured.

Power comes from two AA batteries; NiMH, lithium, or alkalines are support. The main body size is 88.3 x 33.4 x 60.4mm (W x D x H), and the weight, not including the batteries, is 168g. Two NiMH batteries and a recharging station are included.
