That's a lot of hours of battery life.
Japan Victor Corporation (JVC) will release the play-only portable MD player, the "XM-C31," on October 1st. It is Open Price, but indicators suggest it should cost around 21,000 yen.
The model has a two tone design. Blue (-A), Pink (-P), and White (-W) colors will be available.
Using an independently developed power conservation technology, with the use of the included internal NiMH sticks and 1 AA battery, this player can playback for a total of 318 hours (LP4 mode). When using only the included rechargeable battery, standard mode playback is at 58 hours, LP2 mode 80 hours, and LP4 mode 116 hours. Furthermore, a function called "Quick Charge," which when the player is charged for 20 minutes, will allow for 15 hours of playback in LP4 mode, is included.
Featuring a 24bit DSP, another internal function is the "Emotional Surround" which give off the actual presence of audio voice. Using 4 audio modes (energy, crystal, subway, and heartful), it is said to allow enjoyment by enabling the user to choose their preferrred comfortable listening location.
A digital amplifier is used for an amp. Also usable is the "Digital AHB (Active Hyper Bass)," correcting lower bass frequencies, a "4 band digital equalizer," "train mode," which reduces the leakage of sound while riding on a train, and finally the "Vocal Cancel Function." Skipping memory, for LP4 mode, is 210 seconds; for standard mode, it is 50 seconds.
The MD section supports MDLP, and group playback. The player's external dimensions are 75.8 x 82.6 x 18.6mm (W x D x H), and it has a weight of 80g (107g with batteries). An LCD remote, AC adapter, and recharging stand are included.
