What does the Southeastern Conference have to do with Japan? Probably nothing actually - this "SEC" is "Systems Engineering Consultants." BML - "Broadcast Markup Language." That's a new one. With terrestrial digital, this sort of stuff is possible.
SEC and KDDI Research Labs announced the development of a "TV application" and BML browser for cellular phones that can receive terrestrial digital broadcasts.
This software is intended for inclusion in cellular phones that support terrestrial digital broadcast reception. The TV application features a user profile function, and will make certain contents and services available to users depending on their preferences and will. The BML browser, on the other hand, supports "BML (Broadcast Markup Language)," the data transmission standard of terrestrial digital broadcasts - and is used to tie together broadcasts and news.
Both of the softwares will be included in the cellular phone that supports terrestrial digital broadcasts as announced by KDDI in May.
