This is pretty straightforward. Since it doesn't have internal rechargable batteries, you're on your own. But one interesting feature of the player is that you can use either 2 or 4 AA batteries - and you can even mix and match types of batteries, such as Alkaline and NiMH.

Kenwood Corporation will release the "DPC-X447MP-B" MP3/WMA playback supporting CD player in the first part of August. The unit is Open Price, but the estimated retail price is 11,000 yen.

This is a portable CD player that supports playback of MP3 and WMA. Aluminium panels are used on the body, and Kenwood has said since player "is stylish, it has a high grade impression." Also included is a backlit LCD remote controller, though it does not support the display of Japanese characters.

To supply power to the player, either 2 or 4 batteries can be used. 2 "NB-3A70" exclusive NiMH batteries are included. When playing back MP3/WMA, using two NiMH batteries gives a life of about 6 hours - using 4 gives about 12 hours. Using Alkaline batteries in the same sense can give 9 and 20 hours. Furthermore, when using 2 NiMH and 2 Alkaline, the life is around 15 hours.

Programming can be done up to 64 songs. Repeat, intro scan, and random play modes are also featured. 6 equalizers are preset - flat, classic, pop, jazz, rock, and bass. A line-out jack is also furnished. The external dimensions are 138 x 138 x 21.5mm (W x D x H), and the player has a weight of 185g.
