Four types of products are in the lineup. Ricoh Corporation, in an effort to strengthen its product line, will begin releasing new DVD-R media on June 29th. Four types of media are in the lineup, and all of the prices are Open Price. Of the four products, the company is shooting for monthly sale of 500,000 discs. Although the company had previously sold drives and media in the DVD+R/RW camp, about the introduction of this DVD-R media, it was explained that "With the help of our achievements in the past, and in addition to the many uses of recordable DVD media domestically, we are aiming for much more activity as a recordable DVD maker." The "DMRD-8XCWR5," to be released in the first part of July, is a 5-pack (1 disc of each color) of metallic colored DVD-R data media that supports 8x writing. Its retail price will be around 1,800 yen. The discs reportedly use a highly durable sensitive organic pigment that support high speed writing while maintaining a low error rate. The label sides of the disc can be printed with an ink jet printer, and 5 color slim cases to match the colors of the discs are included. A 20-pack of 4x data DVD-R media with a metallic white label, the "DMRD-4XSPPR20," will be released on June 29th. Its price is 4,900 yen. "Since the discs feature a label lustre much more brilliant than normal white, beautiful, clean and radiant labels can be created." The "DMRV-4XCWCR10" is a 10 pack (2 of each 5 colors) will be released on June 29th. The 4x write supporting video-use media will be in metallic coloring, and will cost about 2,400 yen. Ricoh has said that "we have used the high reliability and high endurance of data media." To celebrate the anniversary of the release of DVD, 10,000 packs of of the limited edition "DMRD-8XCWCR6" media will go on sale on June 29th. The price is 1,800 yen, and the set contains 6 discs - 5 8x DVD-R discs for data, and 1 4x DVD+RW disc for data.
