Yes, we know that there's been 72" PDPs, but what about LCD? Well, Samsung has o­ne that's 46". That's pretty large.



Samsung Japan Corporation will release the "LT46G15W," the world's largest LCD TV at 46" widescreen, o­n June 10th. The price is Open Price. The estimated retail price is 998,000 yen.

At 46V, this is the world's largest panel for consumer use. It has an integrated TV tuner, and the resolution of the screen is 1920 x 1080, allowing it to support real display of Full HD.

This is the second official announcement of a Full HD panel, following after Mitsubishi's announcement of the 37V "LCD-H37MRH4." However, since the Samsung panel will be released first, it is said to be the first product to market in Japan.

The panel uses the "DNI Engine" high quality image full-digital processing system independently developed by Samsung. It also features various functions such as the "Intelligent Analyzer" that optimizes video input signals, "Motion Optimizer" noise reduction, "Contast Enhancer" that displays natural contrasts, "Detail Enhancer" that displays minute details of the video, and finally the "Color Optimizer" that corrects color levels.

Also, when using the sample image loaded into memory, o­ne can use the "My Color Control" to adjust the colors of skin, sky, and grass, etc. to their liking. Other colors are not affected by the adjustments, and each color can be adjusted independently.

The included tuners are dual terrestrial analog tuners. A PnP function and Ghost Canceller are also furnished. Also, SRS TruSurround XT can be used during audio playback.

The video inputs are HDMI x 1, D4 x 1, Component x 1, S-Video x 1, Composite x 2, DVI-I x 1, and Analog RGB (D-Sub 15pin) x 1. Outputs for optical digital audio, a headphone output, a monitor output, and an audio output for PC use is also included.

Including the stand, the weight of the TV is 47kg. The external dimensions are 1374 x 402 x 786mm (W x D x H), and the power consumption is 350W.
