Finally. KDDI has expanded their "2D Code Reader" QR code reader application and their pedestrian navigation "EZ Navi Walker" applications to be linked. This means that pedestrian navigation has become much more simple. When a QR code is read from a magazine or business card, a destination (address, position information, etc) can be automatically set. This function will be included in some Toshiba A5506T [1] phones in certain areas, and is planned on being loaded on units support EZ Navi Walker macros. The A5506T will be released nationwide on June 12th. Furthermore, these 2D codes can be created with the "2D Code Maker" offered free of charge by au. Basically, by connecting these two functions, you could read a QR code from anyone's business card, and instantly get up to the minute walking directions to whatever position/address they may have had programmed in that code.
