New handheld DivX/XviD player from RWC

This is an update to the Arex PocketMX [1] as reported back in April.
Improvements include:
-3.5" screen (previous model was 2.5")
-Lithium-Ion battery (previous model was AA)



RWC Corporation will release the "Arex PocketMX typeP" portable MPEG-4 player supporting the playback of DivX o­n July 10th. The price is Open Price. The estimated retail price is around 29,800 yen.

This is the successor to the Arex PocketMX typeH [2] released in May. The LCD display has been increased from 2.5" to 3.5", and the battery has changed from 4x AA to a rechargable Lithium Ion. The playback time is about 4 hours, and when playing MP3s, 6 hours. The OSD has also been changed to Japanese.

The resolution of the display is 480 x 234 dots. Recordable media support is SD Memory Card/MMC, and the playback of DivX, XviD movies, as well as JPEG, and MP3 files is supported. The maximum supported playback resolution is 352 x 288 dots at 30fps, with a 768kbps bitrate.

A recharging cradle supporting the USB Storage class is also included, and the cradle features a video output port. Its design features an integrated protective cover and stand. The external dimensions and weight are 103 x 22.4 x 94mm (W x D x H) and 200g (no batteries).
