And for some reason it's got a CF slot. It's also pretty small, with a 2.5" HD.
Sony will release the "HDD Photo Storage HDPS-M1" on their direct sale website, "SonyStyle," on June 18th. The price is 31,290 yen.
Supported operating systems are Windows ME, 2000, XP, and Mac OS X 10.3 and above.
This pocket-sized photo storage device contains a 2.5" 40GB hard drive. It can copy images and video to the HD directly from a memory card, and also be used as an external HD for a PC using the USB 2.0 interface. It does not feature an LCD for viewing images, but this product instead focuses on the saving of data.
For the memory card slots, it features a Type2 CF slot (Microdrive support) as well as a Memory Stick slot (PRO support, MagicGate not supported). Using the internal lithium ion battery, it can operate for about 60 minutes when charged for 4 hours.
The main body size is 135 x 92 x 30mm (W x D x H), and the weight is 300g. It includes "Photo Diary" software, an AC adapter, carrying case, and USB cable.
