There is an exhibit currently going on at Japan's National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation.

Apparently the + and - buttons were early experiments at what is currently an analog stick.
The exhibit is going on until May 29th, and costs 500 yen for adults to enter. From what I can tell in these pictures, most of the exhibit is also in English. So if you're stopping by Japan some time soon, and are interested in going, you can write a report for me!
