Today marks the start of the new fiscal year in Japan, meaning companies make announcements regarding prices of their products and such. First up is Nagase, who lowered the price of their DVX-500, which I reported on a while back [1].
Nagase Industries Corporation reduced the price of their network supporting DVD player, the "DVX-500," sold on their direct sale site, "DVDirect." Starting April 1st, the price is now 20,790 yen.
While the price for the basic unit was previously 22,800 yen (including tax), the price has been reduced to 19,800 yen (20,790 when including tax). Nagase has said that "this is a 25% lower price than other companies with equal products." The DVX-500 is a DVD player equipped with an Ethernet port, and supports the playback of DivX, XviD, and other video files using compression formats. 802.11g wireless connections are also supported with the purchase of a seperate adapter.
