So it's a turntable that's plated with 24 karat gold.
Yes, you too can get your bling2 o­n for o­nly 90,000 yen.



Matsushita Electrial Industries Corporation will release the "SL-1200GLD," an analog player under the Technics brand, for 90,000 yen. o­nly 3,000 of the players will be made.

This is a limited edition model based off the already top of the line "SL-1200MK5G." The new player is to commemorate the 30,000,000 mark for the SL-1200 series. There will be 3,000 of the units sold worldwide, 500 of those in Japan.

24 karat gold is used extensively o­n the player, such as o­n the tone arm. The top of the body has brilliant lustre accents, and the attached commemorative plate has the serial number of the limited edition model engraved.

The rest of the specifications are the same as o­n the SL-1200MK5G. It uses the D.D (Direct Drive) which unifies the rotation of the turntable and motor, and can reach a set speed in 0.7 seconds. The rotation control uses a quartz synthesizer. It has a startup torque of 1.5kg/cm.

Using the "Horizontal Weight Adjustment Mechanism," a highly sensetive yet non-jumping needle is at the end of the arm. The tone arm is an S-type Stick Balance Gimble Suspension system. Also, the signal track uses OFC (Oxygen Free Copper), for retaining superb audio quality.

The applicable cartridges mass is 3.5-13 grams. The needle pressure can be regulated from 0-4 grams. The external dimensions are 453 x 360 x 172 (W x D x H), and it weighs 11.7 kg.
