40x means a 50% improvement over their previous model. It's a bit steep though - 6,500 yen for a 128MB card.
IO Data Corporation will release the 40x transfer capable CF series, the "CF40" at the end of February. The capacities are 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, and 1GB, and the prices will be 6,500 yen, 12,000 yen, 22,000 yen, and 47,800 yen respectively.
This is a 40x read/write CF Type I card. When compared to existing models from IO Data, the transfer speeds have been increased by 50%.
Using the "GBDriver" flash controller IC, dispersion of memory during writing increased the longevity of the device. Also, it has a memory block diagnosis function, which has made more stable writing possible.
