Two characters from a Fuji TV kids program called "Ponki Kids" are coming soon to an iPod nano near you.
Bandai Networks has released 2,000 sets of "iPod nano" plays with laser carvings of "Gatchapin" and "Mukku," two characters from Fuji TV's "Ponki Kids" kids TV program, along with related products. The set includes an iPod nano case with the characters, as well as a protective film. The price of a set that includes a 1GB model is 24,980 yen, and a set that includes a 2GB nano is 28,979 yen.
The set consists of an iPod nano (white) with Gatchapin and Mukku laser engraved on the reverse of the case, a "Gatchapin Doll Case" (with hook and neck carrier), as well as films to protect the LCD screen and the click wheel. The set comes in a package that is the face of Gatchapin.
The accessories included in this set will also be available separately. The "Gatchapin Doll Case" is made of a Gatchapin color (yellow-green) felt material. There is a hole on the left side of the foot for the earphone cable to pass through. The hook and neck carrier can be removed. It measures 112 x 78mm (H x W). Its price is 1,980 yen.
The "Gatchapin & Mukku LCD Protection Sheet and Wheel Film" are semi-transparent films that protect the screen of the iPod nano (white) and the click wheel. Because they are semi-transparent, putting them on a black iPod nano will cause the illustrations to fade. The size of the sheet is 111 x 159mm, and it costs 1,470 yen.
Orders will be accepted from noon on February 23rd via the company's "LaLaBit Market" shopping site, and their "Bandai Character Store" mobile phone site. Shipments are planned to begin in late March.
