Here are three new PCMCIA cards from Willcom that support the new "W-OAM" standard, which is basically just a high-speed version of PHS.

Willcom has announced the release dates of three card-style PHS devices that support the higher speed PHS communication standard, "W-OAM." The "AX520N" and "AX420N" from NEC Infrontier will be released on February 23rd, and the "AX420S" from Seiko Instruments will be released on March 9th.

"W-OAM" is an acronym for "WILLCOM Optimized, Adaptive Modulation," and is a communications standard that achieves higher communication speeds by automatically changing modulation systems depending on the reception environment. The "AX520N" has a maximum data transfer rate of 408kbps (when using 8x packets), and the "AX420N" and "AX420S" have maximum transfer rates of 240kbps (when using 4x packets).

Orders are being taken via the company's "Willcom Store" online shopping site, and the prices for both new contracts and equipment upgrades (10 months and above) are as follows: AX520N for 14,800 yen, and AX420N and AX420S for 6,800 yen.
