Finally, there were no less than three "Lumix" digital still cameras announced by Panasonic today: the LS2, TZ1, and FX01.


-Lumix DMC-LS2

-Release March 10th, estimated at 25,000 yen
-3x optical zoom, stabilization technology
-Takes AA batteries to reduce costs
-New functions include an EX optical zoom, fast single point autofocus
-5MP CCD, maximum recording resolution 2560 x 1920 pixels
-Video at 320 x 240 in 30fps (Motion JPEG)
-Focal length of 35mm to 105mm
-2" TFT LCD
-14MB of internal memory, SD/MMC slot

-Release o­n March 24th, estimated around 45,000 yen
-10x optical zoom
-"Travel Dating" function that automatically records what day # of your trip you're o­n
-Other travel functions include "World Time" for choosing the time zone of your travel destination o­n a world map, "Sky Record Mode" for taking pictures out the window of an airplane, and "Beach Mode" for recording images of people under strong sunlight
-Stablization function
-"Venus Engine III" image processor uses 20% less power than Venus Engine II
-Autofocus with linear motor
-5MP CCD, maximum resolution of 2560 x 1920
-Widescreen video at 848 x 480, 30fps (Motion JPEG)
-Focal length of 35 ~ 350mm
-2.5" TFT LCD
-13.4MB of internal memory, SD/MMC slot

-28mm ~ 102mm focal length makes indoor pictures easier
-World's first camera with a Super-High Refractive Non-Spherical Index Glass Mould Lens (EA Lens), allowing for wide angles yet a compact body. Thus, it's the world's smallest camera with a 28mm wide-angle lens
-Recording in ISO 800 ~ 1600
-Widescreen video at 848 x 460 in 30fps
-6MP CCD, maximum resolution of 2816 x 2112 pixels
-2.5" LCD
-SD/MMC slot
