Moving right along, JVC has announced two new digital video cameras, the GZ-MG77 and MG67, with respective 30GB and 20GB capacities.
-MPEG-2 format recording in Ultra-Fine (9mbps), Fine (6mbps), Normal (4.5mbps), and Economy (1.7mbps) -First three modes at 720 x 480, last at 352 x 240; all use VBR -Successors to "MG70" and "MG50" of last year -- improvements include 10x optical zoom lens with an open F value of 1.2 -2.18MP CCD, effective 1.23MP for video at 2.0MP for stills -2.7" LCD with 16:9 aspect ratio -"Stick Controller" for better control of the menu options, "Auto Button" for fully automatic recording -New thumbnail display with event searching functionality: search videos based on the events taking place -Quicker startup: now 4 seconds -SD card slot for still images and/or video, maximum resolution of stills is 1632 x 1224. -Included battery allows continuous recording for an hour, or "30 minutes under actual conditions." -USB 2.0 connection: transferring a 4GB file takes 5 minutes -USB Host function for direct connection to DVD writers
