Pioneer Corporation announced the release of the "AS-PS55" portable speaker in the "Happy AQUA" series, intended to be used in the bathroom. The play can be enclosed inside the speaker itself. Blue, Pink, and White colors will be available, at roughly 3,500 yen apiece. As a "Happy AQUA" accessory, the company will also release the "Happy AQUA Lumi" portable floating light. It will be available in Blue, Pink, and Green, for about 2,900 yen. -AS-PS55 This is a water resistant portable monaural speaker. It is rated JIS Level 4 for water resistance, and can withstand water splashes from any direction. The case and hook are made of polypropylene, and the joints use a silicone rubber packing. The amplifier is an internal active type. It uses a stereo mini plug for input, so it can be connected with portable audio players. The portable audio players can be stored inside the speaker, protecting them from water. A single speaker with a 57mm unit makes this monaural. It has an impedence of 8 ohms. The amplifier has a maximum output of 0.325W, and power is supplied by four AA batteries. On the body as an S-shaped hook, so it can be suspended from a towel rank. The dimensions are 210 x 85 x 212mm (W x D x H), and the weight about 365g. -Happy AQUA Lumi This is a portable light that can float in bathtub water. It is being released as an accessory in the Happy AQUA series. Pioneer said "the number of people meditating by listening to music, doing aromatherapy, or floating candles in the bathtub is increasing. To support these needs, we've commercialized a light that allows people to enjoy a relaxing candle-light like environment." The unit is certified for JIS Level 7 water resistance, so it can be temporarily submerged. It uses a multicolor LED inside of a luminuous body, and has two display modes: "Rainbow Color Mode" which slowly changes between 7 faint colors, and "Timer Mode" which flashes for 10 minutes. The body has a crystal cut style design. The company said, "it can be used as night illumination in a variety of scenes, not just the bathroom." Power is supplied by three AAA batteries, and these offer a battery life of about 96 hours. The dimensions are 102 x 62.5mm (D x H). The weight is 160g.
