On January 14, Fujitsu will begin selling a 990g (2.18 lbs) Tablet PC named, LOOX P70R. The price will not be set but is expected to sell for around 230,000 yen.

This is the consumer model of the Mobile Tablet PC 'FMV-LIFEBOOK FMV-P8210' which began selling in October for the business market. The OS that it comes loaded with is Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005. The dimensions are 232×167×34.5mm (W x D x H) and the weight is 990 grams. The display is an 8.9 inch 1,024 X 600 pixel LCD which can be used with just a pen and its orientation can be rotated vertically or horizontally. It comes with the same keyboard as a notebook PC.

It has an ultra-low voltage Pentium M 753(1.20GHz) CPU, 512 MB of memory, 30GB hard drive, and an Intel 915GMS Express chip set (internal video function). It comes standard with an external DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive.

Interfaces: IEEE 802.11a/b/g wirelss LAN, 2 USB 2.0 ports, Type2 PC card-slot, SD card-slot, Ethernet, Mini D-Sub 15 pin, V.92 modem. It has a Lithium-ION battery which will last about 4 hours per charge.
