You've been waiting for a way to covertly record happenings in your bedroom, and here's your answer. Japan's "DIGITAL COWBOY" has announced the "NET COWBOY (DC-NCIRC1," which features infrared LEDs to light up the scene of the crime. Nope, this won't be used for anything sublegal, I promise!

DIGITAL COWBOY announced on the 17th the "NET COWBOY (DC-NCIRC1)," a webcam that features infrared LEDs so it can be used in low light, and will release it in late October. It is Open Price, but should end up costing around 3,980 yen.

The NET COWBOY contains a .3MP CMOS sensor, and supports recording at 640 x 480 (up to 800 x 600 with drivers), at a maximum of 15 frames per second (30fps at 320 x 240). Since the camera has infrared LED lights, it can turn them on when there isn't enough light for recording, making recording in the dark possible.

It uses a multi-clip style stand, and can be put on a desk, or clipped to the LCD of a notebook PC or some such.

An optional ear-clip type headset is also included. It supports use with most voice chat programs. The size of the camera is 36 x 63 x 90mm (W x D x H), and it weighs about 100 grams. Supported operating systems are Windows 2000 Professional and XP.
