Models with an ADF will be released on November 11th. The "UX-MF40CL," which includes one cordless phone handset, should be around 53,000 yen; the "UX-MF40CW," which includes two cordless phone handsets, will be around 60,000 yen.

This all-in-one unit provides printer, scanner, copier, and FAX functionality. It also has a 4.3" color ASV LCD and memory card reader, so it can print without a PC. The LCD can display as many as 16 thumbnails at a time, and can also display ink cartridge/paper installation instructions, and operation guides.

Supported memory cards include CompactFlash, SmartMedia (3.3V), SD Memory Card/MMC, and Memory Stick/Memory Stick PRO. With an adapter, it can also handle xD-Picture Card, miniSD, and Memory Stick Duo/Memory Stick PRO Duo. Apart from this, it also features direct connection with digital cameras via PictBridge.

Connecting the unit to an ethernet allows it to be used as a shared printer, and enables users to edit the phone book using their PC.

The "PDF Save" function enables users to turn documents into PDF files. A related function is "Scan to Email," which can take saved PDF files and attach them to messages for sending via a PC connected to the network.

"Idle Screen Save" allows for swapping of the idle screen (wallpaper) of mobile phones to be changed from pictures tat are scanned. Also available are a "Phone Book Read Function" that can read data from the phone book of a mobile phone, and "Keitai Link" that allows the unit to interface with a mobile phone via its memory card.

Other specifications are largely the same between the two models, such as the thermal inkjet printing system used in the printer portion. It has maximum output resolution of 4800 x 1200 dpi, and ink can be 6 color (colors, photo) or 4 color (colors, black). The monochrome printing speed is 26 pages per minute, and color speed 20 pages per minute. Paper as large as A4 size can be printed on, and the unit supports post card/L-seal sizes, as well as glossy paper.

The scanner has a maximum resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi. It uses a CIS sensor. A4 and Letter sizes are supported.

The UX-MF30CL measures 435 x 335 x 160mm (W x D x H), and weighs about 6.1kg. The UX-MF40CW measures 435 x 346.5 x 188mm (same) and weighs 6.6kg.
