Thinner than Motorola's RAZR? Yep. NEC has a new phone coming out that has an 11.9mm thickness -- the RAZR has a thickness of 13.71mm, so it's been beaten.
We can't find an actual model number for this phone, but it is a GSM/GPRS handset that will be sold outside of Japan by NEC.
NEC has developed a GSM handset for overseas carriers that features a folded thickness of 11.9mm. After introducing the product in the Hong Kong market, they will continue with its introduction in Europe and China.
The handset features an 11.9mm thickness when closed. It also has a 1.3MP camera, TFT color LCD with a 176 x 220 dot resolution that is capable of displaying 65,000 colors, and on the outside an organic EL display.
It supports GSM/GPRS systems, and contains browsing, email, MMS, and Java functionality. An audio player that can play MP3s is also provided, as is a video recording function for videos up to 2 minutes in length. Direction connection with a printer to print images is also possible thanks to a USB connection, and Bluetooth is also supported. Hands-free, modem communication, and data transfer functions are also provided.
The size is 101.5 x 47.9 x 11.9mm (H x W x T). It weighs about 96g, and has 26MB of internal memory.
