Links International has announced a new case for ATX motherboards that is actually the same size as a case for microATX motherboards. How did they do it? They put the power source in the front! Makes you wonder why nobody else thought of this earlier...

Links International announced the "NS-300TN" PC case, a compact PC case that allows for ATX motherboards while it is microATX sized, on July 11th. The price is open, but estimated at around 7,000 yen.

The NS-300TN packs an ATX power unit in the front underside of a case made for PCs without a power source, allowing for an ATX motherboard to be slapped in a case intended for use with microATX mobos.

The front portion has an LCD with an orange backlight, that displays case internal temperature, fan rotation speed, the time, PC uptime, and has an alarm function.

The usable drive bays are 2x 5" drive bay, 1x 3.5" drive bay, and 2x 3.5" shadow. It feautres two 6 cm fans (both rear), and offers a 6cm fan on the side panel as an option.

It measures 140 x 450 x 360mm (W x D x H), and weighs about 5 kg.
