Sanwa Supply has a new USB gamepad coming out that looks strikingly similar to the NES gamepad. I guess people who use emulators a lot would be interested in something like this. I'm pretty sure some modder has already rigged up a NES > USB bridge of some sort, but at least this product is cheap (only $13 or so).
Sanwa Supply has a USB gamepad called the "JY-P1R," which is designed exactly the same as the game controller for Nintendo's "Famicon" game console. Its price is from 1,333 yen to 1,480 yen.On the package and unit, only "CLASSIC USB GAME PAD" and "play with that retro feeling" are written, so there is nothing related to Nintendo or the Famicom. However, the shape, placement, and other design elements of the d-pad and "start" and "select" buttons is taken directly from the Famicom game controller. The "JY-P1R" features a "TURBO" button for rapid fire, as well as "C" and "D" buttons in addition to the standard "A" and "B."The package also has "Limited" written on it in huge letters, but it is not known what this means.Though this looks like an irresistable item for the generation that was part of the Nintendo craze when they were kids, this might also get some attention as it is a PC gamepad that has a rare complete d-pad (most products have a d-pad shaped protuberance that just sits on top of a round piece).Inspired by:http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/akiba/hotline/20050611/etc_jyp1r.htmlSanwa Supply:http://www.sanwa.co.jp
