Headphones with wind up cables are nothing new, but these new ones from CyberGadget are intended to be used with the Nintendo DS, PSP, and other portable game consoles. What does that mean? Nothing, actually -- they appear to be a pretty normal pair of headphones. More information inside.
CyberGadget Corporation will release the "Cyber Wind-Up Headphone (PSP/DS use)" on June 12th. They are Open Price, but should cost around 1,200 yen.
The headphones feature high sound quality, and are intended to be used with next generation portable game consoles such as the Nintendo DS and PSP. They feature an automatic cable winding storage mechanism. Also, they feature a "Super Bass" function, and a volume control on the earphone housing itself.
The cable uses OFC (oxygen-free copper) and the plug gold plating. CyberGadget has said the headphones produce low tones, and a nice tone quality.
