Thanko's Rare Mono Shop offers up the "NOAX CSV HDD PLAYER," which is basically an external hard drive with a bunch of A/V functionality added. It can play video files, audio files, still images, VOB files, and can even copy files directly to/from digital cameras, MP3 players, USB memory devices, and so forth.

One model includes a hard drive, o­ne doesn't -- the o­ne that doesn't can handle hard drives up to 80GB.



Thanko released the "NOAX CSV HDD PLAYER," a DivX supporting multimedia player that connects by USB 2.0. The price of the model with a hard drive is 26,630 yen, and without a hard drive, 12,980 yen (both include tax).

The NOAX CSV HDD PLAYER is a model that adds to the functionality of the "NOAX HDD PLAYER," and can copy files directly to/from digital cameras, MP3 players, and USB memory devices. Also, it supports multi-stream VOB audio in bvideo files, and while playing a VOB file recorded in multiple languages, can switch between them using the remote control.

Other than being able to output to a TV, the unit can is recognized as an external hard drive when connected to a PC by USB. The model with a hard drive has a 20GB capacity. The hard drive-less model can support any 2.5" IDE (9.5mm thick) hard drive up to 80GB (hard drives above 32GB require formatting).

Supported playback formats include DivX, MPEG-1/2, DVD, VCD, MP3, and JPEG. A USB 2.0 port is furnished, as well as an AV output, coaxial output, and 5.1ch surround output.
