As part of my ongoing effort to get TechJapan listed on google (because we're not, just try searching), I'll be experimenting with a few site settings today. Apparently running PHP as CGI disables custom php instructions in .htaccess files, something I didn't know, which has been responsible for a few problems.
Anyway, this is just to let everyone know. Don't expect any major downtime; just don't be surprised if you see a "500 Internal Server Error" message or two today. The new poll, Product of the Week, and Saturday Statistics will be posted later on.

hi, i run www.motherdigital.com and am a reader of your site, great stuff!! one of the quickest ways of gettingindexed is to put google ads on your site, even if it is just a small single ad banner that will do it. once it is live google will index your site very quickly because you have one of their ads on it.... good luck with it all. |

Anon #1: Given that there are plenty of other PostNuke sites listed on google, there's obviously other ways to get listed. And I'm not trying to improve listings; I'm trying to just get there in the first place. Anon #2: Thanks for the compliment. We've tried the google ads solution (I take it you mean AdWords), and it wasn't working. I'll try it again though, and we'll see what happens. |
