You guessed it; it's the first portable DVD/CD player to support the playback of MP3s. Yes, that means you can play all 4.7GB of MP3s from a single DVD. It also functions as a normal DVD player, so you get that added value. And it costs 12,800 yen (like $110 USD).

One thing I don't like is the absolutely abysmal battery life. o­nly 8 hours of CD playback, and 1 hour of DVD playback. Ouch. More details inside.

Evergreen Corporation will release the "Donya PDVD Player DN-805WOL," a portable DVD/CD player, o­n their "Shanghai Donya" direct sale website o­n the 14th. The price is 12,800 yen.

This is a portable DVD player in the shape of a portable CD player. Though it does not feature a LCD, it includes an AV output cable, and can be used for viewing DVD videos when, for example, travelers reach their final destination. Also, it can playback audio CDs, enabling it to be used as a portable CD player while o­n the move.

It features o­ne composite and o­ne analog audio output jack. It is not furnished with an optical digital or coaxial digital output. It can playback DVD-Video, DVD-R/RW (Video Mode), and Audio CDs. Furthermore, it supports the playback of MP3 files recorded o­n CD-R and DVD-R.

Power is supplied by a lithium ion battery. The continuous playback time when using CD is 8 hours, and when using DVD, 1 hour. An AC adapter, wireless remote controller, remote controller with LCD, and earphones are included. The external dimensions are 139 x 149 x 20mm (H x W x T).
