Evergreen Corporation released the low-cost "D900SX" DVD player that can be stood vertically, and has a slot-loading drive, o­n January 7th. Though listed as Open Price, the estimated retail price is around 10,000 yen.

In addition to DVD-Video, the player supports the playback of MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, and XviD format video files stored o­n DVD±R/RW and CD-R/RW media. It can also play MP3 and WMA audio files, and display JPEG images. Furthermore, specifications regarding supported DivX/XviD versions, supported resolutions, framerates, and audio formats, are available o­n the company's homepage.

Video output ports include o­ne port of each of the following: Component, S-Video, Composite, D-Sub 15 pin (analog RGB), and the player supports Progressive output for DVD-Video. Available audio outputs are Analog 2ch, Analog 5.1ch, Optical Digital, and Coaxial Digital; again, o­ne port of each.

The o­n-screen display (OSD) can be chosen from either English or Japanese. The unit supports both horizontal and vertical operation, and features a display that glows blue. The vertical standing size is 60 x 253 x 250mm (W x D x H). It weighs 2.09kg. A wireless remote controller and stand for vertical placement are included.

This is a DVD player with a thin-style cabinet, a total height of 42mm. Apart from DVD-Video, it can play DVD-Audio at 24bit/192kHz. It is also equipped with an analog 5.1ch output.

The player also supports the playback of MPEG-1/2/4, DivX, and XviD format video files stored o­n DVD±R/RW and CD-R/RW media. It can also play MP3 and WMA audio files, and display JPEG images.
