Here's a DVD player under 50,000 yen that has a pretty large 10" LCD. By DSign? I don't know either.

By DSign Corporation will release the "d:1010p," a portable DVD player with a widescreen 10.2" display, o­n December 24th for 49,800 yen. Shipments are planned for January 5th of 2005. Sales will be conducted at Yodobashi Camera, Yomiuri's InfoDev Direct Sale site "Nesepa," and By DSign's direct sale site. The price at By DSign's site is 49,800 yen.

This is a portable DVD player that includes a lithium ion battery, AC adapter, DC12V car battery adapter, and card-type remote controller, whilst mainting a low price. A 56MHz/12bit DAC is used for video, and a 95KHz/24bit DAC is used for audio; it also furnishes stereo speakers.

In addition to NTSC standard DVD-Video, it can also playback PAL standard DVD-Video. This includes the playback of DVD-R/RW (video mode) as well as DVD+R/RW (video mode) discs. Likewise, the player supports playback of Video CDs, and CD-R/RWs with MP3 and JPEG files.

Also available is a digital zoom/reduction function with 3 settings, a bitrate bar dispaly, and resume functionality. With the included battery, it can playback for about 2.5 hours.

Provided o­n the player as output jacks are an AV output (compostie/analog audio), S-Video output, stereo audio output, and optical digital/headphone multiuse jack. Its external dimensions are 275 x 195 x 37mm (W x D x H), and it weighs about 1,185g (1,395g including battery pack).
