Japanese people often make jokes about Westerners, because rather than putting our "seal" o­n things like they do, we sign our documents. "How do they remember what to sign?" "How do they always write the same thing twice?"

Well, Japan, stamps aren't exactly the epitome of security secure, either.
Anyway, IO Data Device has new USB memory devices with an integrated name stamp. Why? I don't know.

IO Data Device Corporation will release the "ED-NAME32" name stamp integrated with USB memory in the latter parts of January 2004. Supported operating systems are Windows 2000 and XP.

The price is Open Price. Because this item is intended to be sold as o­nly a "novelty," handling of orders will be conducted o­n the company's exclusive "EasyDisk Order-Made Service" site. Furthermore, the names can be printed o­n the product when ordering.

The "ED-NAME32" is a product that features a 32MB USB memory combined with a name stamp. It can be used as a regular seal when the cap at the end is removed. Also, when using the included "DenIn Pasopon Lite" software, the stamp can be used as an "electronic stamp" when connected to the PC.

The size is 19.8 x 70.8 x 10mm (W x D x H, without name stamp), and it has a weight of 12g (without stamp). The interface is USB 1.1.
