It is now well into the 12th in Japan, and the PSP has launched.
Early reports from Impress Watch indicate that lines as long as 1300 people long formed in front of major Tokyo electronics vendors. Scott (sar7501) is in the Osaka area, and he'll be reporting in with his own pictures and media later in the day. Stay tuned!

Here's a picture of the massive line over at Scott's local game shop:

As you can see, demand for the PSP is quite high

Wait, does that say the store closes at 26:00? What the hell does that mean?

I saw a few open until >24:00 signs in Japan this summer too; don't think I ever figured it out though.

26:00 should be 0200 the next day. The japanese like to use this instead of 0200

Heh, so I guess the ~2AM makes sense.

Yeah, he got the two preorder units (one for me and one for himself). He also said he picked up a third. Guess these aren't so hard to come by??
Please don't go spamming him with "OMG SELL ME THE THIRD ONE" requests, because I'm sure he's got other intentions for it. Hell, if I were him, I'd sell it for a huge markup on ebay. Some of those are going for ~$500.
